Tasty bites at Laurel Market Grab lunch at the incredibly cute and unassuming Laurel Market. Laurel Market offers made-to-order lunch and breakfast sandwiches as well as a wide selection of coffees, beers and wines. Made with chorizo sausage, havarti cheese, scallions and cilantro, the Breakfast Torta is a house favorite. Other popular menu items are the Mercado sandwich, the tangy tabbouleh soup or the build-your-own deli sandwich option, which calls on a list of fresh, premium ingredients. The market also offers pastries and desserts, and it houses a small shop filled with local snacks and goodies. Grab a seat outside, along the sunny stretch of shops that round the block, to enjoy the Myers Park neighborhood's historic beauty. Neighborhood: Myers Park Moving cinematic works at the historic Manor Theater Wrap up the day catching a flick at the Regal Manor Twin Theater, or as it's simply and affectionately known in Charlotte, the Manor. As the city's oldest operating theater, this historic movie house opened in 1947 and was considered one of the prettiest theaters in Charlotte. Its marquee is one of the most recognizable in the city. Operating only two screens allows the theater to maintain an intimate, cozy and retro atmosphere. Catch modern-day blockbusters and indie flicks alike while enjoying fresh popcorn and candy— sometimes even mixed together. And if you're feeling really brave, punch your ticket for a late- night flick in auditorium one. Legend has it that the theater is haunted. Employees sometimes feel a ghostly presence in the projection room or hear unaccounted for sounds coming from the women's restroom on the second floor. Go check it out, if you dare!
