A TALE of two cities

CARVE THE
PERFECT
FRONT PORCH
PUMPKIN AT
NOON
Preparing to dig into this year's
pumpkin, you roll up the sleeves of
your go-to old button up and expose
your arms to the crisp October
air. It's officially time to bring your
creation to life. Focused on having
the neighborhood's best jack-o'-
lantern, you don't even notice the
heaps of mushy pumpkin guts
splashing all over your sneakers. A
few more gauges and scoops, and
suddenly you're covered.
Luckily, these local farms don't
mind the mess. At Hall Family Farm
and Hodges Family Farm, selecting
your perfect pumpkin is just the
beginning. Once you spot the one,
start crafting your masterpiece right
there at the farm, where carving kits
are available for purchase.
After the last cut, proudly wear the
pumpkin guts on your shirt, shoes
and hands. Stand back and admire
your work of art. Wipe the sweat
from your brow and pay no mind to
the pumpkin trail left behind on your
forehead.
