Landscaping in Myers Park
By Abby Blanton
Those beautifully large and leafy trees that famously line the streets of the Myers Park
neighborhood (notably Queen's Road West) were commissioned by Charlotte industrialist
James B. Duke (namesake of The Duke Mansion, also nestled in the heart of Myers
Park). Pictured here, in 1916 or 1917, landscapers plant the now-mature trees we see
throughout Myers Park today.
