d a n c i n g Now that you've sipped your way through the Queen City, it's time to get active and burn off those cocktail calories. Start by time traveling back to the 1980s and 1990s at Roxbury Nightclub. The funky Uptown dance lounge packs a heavy dose of nostalgia with favorite songs from your glory days. You'll love checking out the toys, movie posters and other back-in-the-day mementos that adorn the walls (perhaps they'll remind you of the years you spent sporting braces and painfully dorky bangs). Afterward, head next door to Dandelion Market for an equally invigorating but current soundtrack. If your group is in the market for a more structured workout, throw on your sneakers and try Cardio Craze in the Cornwell Center at Myers Park Baptist Church. Andre Hairston's popular class, with routines set to favorites like Beyoncé, is so much fun you'll forget you're torching calories as you go. Even if your dance career was over before it officially got off the ground, it's not too late to dust off your shoes and get back into it. Open Door Studios in Plaza Midwood offers classes in ballet, hip-hop, jazz and modern for adults of all skill levels. You can also unleash your adventurous side at Pole Dance Charlotte in Center City. Sculpt your muscles, have some fun and challenge yourself as you learn a sensual new routine. Don't worry; some giggling is allowed. PHOTO COURTESY OF OPEN DOOR STUDIOS FEBRUARY 2017 27
