Tryon Street Florists
It's 3:30 on Friday afternoon. You've earned
cutting out early from work, so power off the
computer and head outside to a florist vendor's
stand on South Tryon Street. Despite the fact that
spring is still slightly out of reach, you'll catch the
lush, pastel hues of wildflowers strewn under a
white tent on the sidewalk. A kindly florist is ready
to design a fresh bouquet right before your eyes.
Lavender dahlias, rose-colored zinnias and hot
orange marigolds complete with sprigs of maroon
salvia make this arrangement a cut above the
standard baby's breath and roses. You may have
to wait in line instead of breezing through the
grocery store for flowers, but the extra effort will
be noticed. Nothing says, "Honey, I'm home" like
the gentle rustling of a paper-wrapped bundle
under your arm as you walk through the door.
