Dec. 13−17 L E S M I SÉRA B L E S OVENS AUDITORIUM Follow the enthralling story of broken dreams, unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption when this beloved Broadway musical returns to Charlotte. Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, this epic and uplifting story continues to break box office records well into its 32nd year. Discover why audiences line up to hear songs such as "I Dreamed A Dream," "On My Own" and "One Day More" time and time again. Dec. 28−29 B E L K B OW L A N D F E S T I V I T I E S BANK OF AMERICA STADIUM Round out the football season at this SEC-meets-ACC college faceoff. Festivities start Thursday, Dec. 28 at the EpiCentre with Belk Bowl Fan Central, which features an epic pep rally and party the night before the big game. On game day, Friday, Dec. 29, FanFest kicks off in Uptown with cheerleaders, marching bands, face painting and more. Live music performances are scheduled before the two teams go head to head. Through Dec. 30 W I N T E R F E S T CAROWINDS Have a holly jolly holiday at Carowinds' all new seasonal event WinterFest, which decks the amusement park with more than 5 million shimmering lights, a 70-foot tree and lavish displays. The amusement park will have festive fun and hands-on holiday activities located throughout the park. Plus, there will be up to 16 rides open to complete your night of memory making. Jan. 5−6 M O N S T E R J A M SPECTRUM CENTER Hear the thunderous roar of the larger-than-life trucks as they take over Spectrum Center for an adrenaline-charged event. Trucks scheduled to appear include Grave Digger and Northern Nightmare. The entire family can get in on the high-flying action of seeing the four-wheel spectacles pushed to the limit. N AT I O N A L H O L I DAY C E L E B RAT I O N UPTOWN Join the three-day celebration of honoring those committed to carrying Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy forward from generation to generation. Events include a parade through the center of Uptown, a memorial service and a march of commitment. Through Dec. 24 C H A R LOT T E C H R I S T M A S V I L L AG E ROMARE BEARDEN PARK Explore the charming, German-inspired Christmas Village located in the heart of the Queen City. You're sure to be enticed by the aromas of specialty foods drifting across the village and the rows of vendors in wooden huts selling traditional handmade crafts, gifts, holiday items and much more.
