The bowling alley-meets-bar- meets-neighborhood hangout is the latest addition to what's effectively become Charlotte's adult playground district. It joins two breweries, a distillery, a craft liquor bar and a cidery—all within walking distance of each other. Expect plenty of space for doing just about anything you desire. Seeking a spot for some back porch sipping? Queen Park Social offers a giant patio that's complete with lounge areas overlooking The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. Prefer to belly up to the bar? Find a stool at the 35-seat horseshoe bar, which boasts 24 taps, plus wine and craft cocktails. Hungry? Feast on the shrimp quesadilla or something spicy from the Tex-Mex menu. The real draw at Queen Park Social is the games. Cue: Eight bowling lanes, shuffleboard, pingpong, Skee Ball, Pop-A-Shot® and classic board games. The fun is all wrapped up in a cool retro-meets-modern package that features mint green bar stools, dining tables crafted from reclaimed wood that was salvaged in Shelby, North Carolina, and a bowling alley adorned with a massive mural by local artists Matt Hooker and Matt Moore. The best part, though, might be the free shuttle from the LYNX Blue Line Scaleybark Station to LoSo. Thanks to it, patrons can party and play without any worries.
