MY charlotte FRANK KAMINSKY CHARLOTTE HORNETS CENTER Tell us about yourself. How did you get to where you are today? I'm just a simple Midwestern guy who likes to play basketball. I've gotten where I am today through a lot of hard work. It hasn't always been easy, and there's been times where it's been difficult, but I think dedication and perseverance have led me to where I am today. What's your favorite Charlotte meal? That's easy: pulled pork. I've tried it from several places around town and love it almost everywhere I've had it. Carolina barbecue has not disappointed. If you only had 10 words, how would you define Charlotte? Business in the front, party in the back. Describe your perfect day in the city. What would you do, see and experience? In my perfect Charlotte day, I'd wake up in my place Uptown and run out to grab some coffee or some good breakfast. I'd take my dog on a walk through Uptown and just relax. Later on, I'd probably go out with some friends and try and have a little fun. Maybe we'd go see a movie, maybe we'd check out StrikeCity in the EpiCentre and roll a few frames— whatever the case may be. Why is Charlotte "home" for you? Charlotte is home for me because it picked me. The Hornets drafted me; this is where my job is. So now, I'm building my career and my life here. What is your favorite Queen City memory? My favorite Queen City memory is the day after the NBA Draft, when I first got here. It was a big day for me the day before. We had a long night and early morning of travel to get to Charlotte for everything I had to do. When I got here, everyone was so welcoming and made me feel like they were genuinely excited to have me here.
