Carowinds WinterFest 14523 Carowinds Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28273 Open select evenings Nov. 18–Dec. 31 For hours and additional information, visit S P O N S O R E D Costumed holiday characters such as Jack Frost, Candy Cane and the Sugar Plum Fairy join Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang to welcome the wee ones with holiday cheer and plenty of opportunities for photos. Of course, Santa Claus will be there, too. He'll be checking his list—twice—and talking up kids throughout the park. Even Mrs. Claus is flying in; she's going to share special holiday cookie- decorating tips in the new park attraction North Pole Excursion, which also offers idyllic activities like horse-drawn carriage rides. If you're lucky, she might even put in a good word for you with jolly old St. Nick. When you're not schmoozing the dynamic holiday duo, enjoy holiday fare (think: smoked turkey, carved ham and all the fixin's) and other special culinary delights all over the park. Explore the holiday-themed Artisan Alley, where you can buy stocking stuffers such as ornaments, decorations and homemade gifts. Take the children ice skating on Snow Flake Lake or hop on one of the family rides that will be open, weather permitting. WinterFest fun features live entertainment with nearly a dozen different shows. In the new 1950s-style attraction Tinsel Town, find the Mistletones, who sing beloved holiday tunes from yesteryear, or seek out roaming costumed carolers and song-and-dance acts certain to bring good cheer throughout the park. Want to keep rocking around the clock? Be sure to check out WinterFest's New Year's Eve celebration, which invites guests to ring in 2019 amid the park's shimmering lights and festive decor.
