WEEKEND warrior By Bryan Richards Our pick for the best way to make that sweet 48 hours of freedom count. Don't let Old Man Winter convince you that, just because it's cold outside, you have to settle for binge-watching Netflix while munching on a bowl of chips. For an unforgettable, "on- top-of-the world" feeling and a surge of endorphins, check out ceiling-high excursions at Cliff Hangers indoor mountain climbing facility in Mooresville, North Carolina. With more than 20,000 square feet of adrenaline-fueled fun, the mounting mecca has something for everyone. Indoor climbing walls soar up to 50 feet with routes of varying difficulty set up for novices and experts alike. Meanwhile, 3,500 square feet of harness- free bouldering walls beckon more experienced climbers. Cliff Hangers even offers classes tailored to different skill levels, like Top Rope for beginners and Advanced Lead Climbing for seasoned climbers. Admission is $15 for ages 12 and under and $19 for ages 13 and older. Check online first for weekend College Night and Date Night specials. Additionally, monthly memberships are available starting at $49 for ages 12 and under, $69 for ages 13 and older and $55 for students with a college ID. Indoor climbing isn't just an exhilarating way to work off those extra pounds before the summer swimsuit season; it also exercises the mind way more than watching another season of "Game of Thrones"—although, we're not judging either way.
