PLAY date By Allison Hancin WITH A LITTLE BIT OF IMAGINATION AND A LOT OF ADVENTURE, EMBARK ON THIS PERFECT FAMILY-FRIENDLY PLAY DATE. It all starts with a good story. At Children's Theatre of Charlotte, familiar favorites and modern tales of adventure, mischief and joy come to life before your eyes. Ease into a seat at the McColl Family Theatre or Wells Fargo Playhouse for one of the more than 600 imaginative performances that make up the 2016-2017 season. Designed to ignite curiosity and a love for the arts, performances from the theatre's Resident Touring Company include renditions of classic tales like "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" and original script premieres. This month, families can tag along in the misadventures of everyone's favorite kindergartner with performances of "Junie B. Jones Is Not a Crook," running Feb. 3-19. The stories at Children's Theatre of Charlotte are shared with more than 300,000 people each year. To ensure all future drama stars can experience the wonder of theater, sensory-friendly and ASL sign-interpreted performances are also available. From educational programs to post- performance activities that stretch the imagination, the narrative told on stage is just the beginning. Off stage, educational classes and workshops give children CHILDREN'S THEATRE OF CHARLOTTE 18 FEBRUARY 2017
